ULTRA MAGNESIUM OIL
The Master Switch: Transdermal Magnesium & MSM
Beyond the “300 Enzymes” Myth
While older textbooks cite 300 enzymatic reactions, modern research reveals that Magnesium is a required cofactor for over 600 to 800 biochemical reactions. From ATP energy production to DNA synthesis, your cellular engines cannot turn over without it[cite: 1133, 1134].
Option A: The Catalyst Ratio (1:1:0.02) [My 2x Daily Formula!)
Best for daily use. Focuses on MSM as a penetration enhancer to “unzip” the skin barrier[cite: 1260, 1269].
- 500g Magnesium Chloride Flakes
- 500g Distilled Water
- 10g MSM Powder (2%)
Yields approx 385mg elemental Mg per teaspoon[cite: 1264].
Option B: Therapeutic Ratio (1:1:0.5) [Not for Daily Use]
Best for joint pain and inflammation. Provides high organic sulfur synergy[cite: 1183, 1235].
- 400g Magnesium Chloride Flakes
- 400g Distilled Water
- 200g MSM Powder
Note: May leave a slight white residue[cite: 1237].
The Vitagenics Mixing Sequence
Protecting organic sulfur bonds from thermal stress[cite: 1224, 1228].
- Boil the distilled water (Magnesium Chloride is “tough” and thrives in high heat)[cite: 1227, 1256]. Use glass or stainless steel to reduce absorption of contaminants.
- Dissolve the Magnesium flakes in the boiling water until crystal clear.
- OPTION #1: Place the magnesium chloride in a 1liter mason jar, and pour the boiling water into the jar.
- OPTION #2: Ideally you would have the mason jar on a magnetic stirrer, with a ceramic stir bar at the bottom of the jar. My magnesium oil then vortexes (stirs) for hours.
- Cool the brine to room temperature or down to 50°C–60°C (120°F–140°F)[cite: 1228, 1258].
- Stir in the MSM. This prevents off-gassing and ensures molecular integrity of the MSM [cite: 1229, 1254]. Once again I am vortexing (stirring) mine for hours with the magnetic stirrer.
- OPTION #3: Structure the magnesium oil with an Analemma Wand, Somavedic device or other structuring methods. Vitagenics magnesium oil uses both of those, plus many hours of vortexing.
Why Skip the Pills?
The primary barrier to oral magnesium success is the Bowel Tolerance Limit[cite: 1143]. High doses of oral citrate or oxide often trigger an osmotic effect (diarrhea), flushing the mineral out before it reaches your cells[cite: 1144]. Transdermal application uses the skin as a “smart reservoir,” bypassing the gut for 5x faster cellular saturation[cite: 1145, 1152]. Additionally, it is very easy to use the same magnesium oil internally by giving one spray to food and drinks that would not have their taste altered by such.

A Systematic Review of 65 Ailments Impacted by Deficiency
The “Master Switch” Logic
Magnesium functions as a cellular master switch[cite: 163]. When cells are deficient, they enter a state of hyper-excitability because calcium remains trapped inside the cell[cite: 164]. This manifests as tension—whether in a blood vessel (hypertension), a nerve (anxiety), or a muscle (cramps)[cite: 165]. By delivering magnesium through the skin with MSM, we reset this calcium-magnesium balance across all systems simultaneously[cite: 166].
Conditions Responsive to Protocol

Did you know? 50% to 60% of the Western population does not meet the RDA for Magnesium, making subclinical deficiency a widespread silent health crisis[cite: 130]. Far worse is that the RDA is far too low, making it likely that almost everyone is deficient. If we expand this to RBC testing for deficiency, we will find that over 90% of some populations are deficient, and RBC cannot reveal all magnesium deficiency in the body. If we look at outcomes, it seems that anybody in the modern world that supplements with magnesium oil sees some type of improvement in physical and/or mental wellness.

Technical Deep Dive
The Physics and Chemistry of the 1-Liter Mason Jar Formula
Potency by Weight
Pure Magnesium Chloride flakes are approximately 12-15% elemental magnesium by weight[cite: 199]. In a 300g/300g/300g batch, you are delivering 250mg to 300mg of magnesium per teaspoon[cite: 201].
The “Shrink” Phenomenon
When solids dissolve, they occupy the molecular spaces between water molecules[cite: 198]. A 900g total weight batch results in 700-800ml of final solution, providing perfect “headspace” in your 1-liter jar for mixing[cite: 197, 198].
The “Catalyst” (0.02) Science
A 0.02 ratio (2% MSM) is chemically sufficient to “unzip” the skin’s lipid barrier. This concentration allows the small magnesium ions to flood through the stratum corneum without leaving a “snowy” white residue on the skin[cite: 259, 263].
Common Questions & Insights
Why does it itch or sting when applied?
The “itch” is typically a clinical indicator of cellular magnesium deficiency[cite: 70, 291]. As your intracellular levels stabilize over weeks of use, this sensation usually disappears[cite: 73].
Can I use tap water instead of distilled?
Distilled water is non-negotiable[cite: 174]. Tap water contains fluoride and heavy metals that can interfere with magnesium ions or be carried into the cells by the MSM[cite: 65, 174].
Where is the best place to apply the oil?
For systemic issues, apply to large surface areas like the torso or thighs[cite: 186]. For localized relief, apply directly over organs (liver/heart) or the base of the neck for tension[cite: 66, 187].
Why not just take a pill?
Oral magnesium is limited by bowel tolerance[cite: 137]. Transdermal application bypasses the digestive tract entirely, allowing for 5x faster cellular saturation without the laxative effect[cite: 139, 146].
