It might sound crazy, but yes, watching movies can be good for your health; as long as you do it wisely. In the video below my daughter and I talk about the how and why, and then I give some guidance on optimizing your screen time for wellness.

The reasons are simple, and as long as we do not overindulge in our screen time, we can experience many benefits:
- It’s fun! Having fun relieves stress.
- It is an emotional release.
- It helps build connections, as we can share our experience with others.
- It helps us to disconnect from work and other stressors from a long day.
- It helps us to ‘wind down’ at the end of the day, and thus leads to better sleep.
To help you actually get benefits while avoiding the many pitfalls of screen time, I discuss some guidance in the video, which can be summarized as:
Don’t Eat Junk Food | Eat Healthy Snacks! |
Avoid Blue Light | Use Blue Light Blockers, Nightshift or Flux software, etc. And consider watching movies during the day! |
Avoid EMF | Keep your distance from Screens, Lamps, Routers, Power Sources, etc. |
Don’t Sit Too Long! | Take breaks to stand, stretch, move. |
Balance Your Life Activities | Spend Time Outdoors, Exercise, Socialize, etc. |
“Everything in moderation” is especially good advice here; however, I am a fan of binge watching, and even that has its own benefits if you try to follow the guidance above. Enjoy your screen time 🙂
